The Strawman Fallacy

A Strawman Fallacy is the idea of someone adding weight to an argument unrelated to the current discussion. To represent this, I worked with Kiron Robinson on this abstract design that’s movement flowed from scene to scene with compositions representing keywords from our VO. It was so much fun doing this form of expressive 3D animation for the first time, and I learned so much utilizing primitive values to add exaggeration and squash and stretch to the motion. Thank you to Steven Dvornik, who was our talented VO.

Winner of a 2022 Gold ADDY and 2022 Bronze Telly

Project Details: Create an explainer video for any of the fallacies featured on Mind Tools website. The video should be an abstract representation of a custom script and have a consistent design language throughout.

Animatic

Before we began animating, we did a rough VO recording to time out each scene so we knew how long we’d have to transition from shot to shot and have our moving holds be.

Our piece was featured at PINC Fest 2022 in there Call to Entry showcase.
